2010 Bald Archy Tour, Watson Arts Centre

Artists are invited to submit paintings in competition for The Bald Archy Prize 2012 $7,500 (Acquisitive).
The prize will be awarded to the best comic or satiric portrait, preferably of an Australian distinguished in Art, Science, Letters, Politics, Sport or the Media painted by an artist during the 12 months preceding February 3, 2012.
The Bald Archy Prize will be previewed at the Watson Arts Centre from February 9, 2012 to March 13, 2012. The winner will be announced in North Sydney at the Independent Theatre (269 Miller Street) on Thursday April 12, 2012. This will be followed by a touring exhibition of selected works to a number of other venues throughout Australia.
Each competitor may enter up to three (3) works, which must be available for sale. Medium – oil, acrylic and mixed media.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Entries must be suitably framed for hanging, with D-hooks, and not exceeding 200cm x 200cm. A stretched canvas is considered framed.
2. Entrants are responsible for payment of all freight charges for the delivery of all entries, and the return of non-successful or unsold entries. The organisers are not responsible for freight or any charges incurred in the delivery or return of entry. Entry fees are non-refundable. Sold items will not be disbursed until the end of the touring exhibition. If work is unsold, entrants will be notified of collection dates and location.
3. All reasonable care will be taken with submitted works, however the organisers will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work, or any other legal responsibility.
4. Competitors shall allow their work to be reproduced for the purposes of promotion of this and future showings of The Bald Archy Prize.
5. The Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The organisers reserve the right to exhibit the entries selected by the Judges, at Canberra and at various venues throughout Australia during the following 12 months. The winning entry becomes the property of the organisers.
6. Entries must be clearly marked on the back with the artist's name and address, the title of the work, and the price, including 25% commission. If preferred, a reserve price may be appointed. The artist's ABN should be supplied where applicable. Please return Entry Form in full.
7. A $30 handling fee for each work entered is to be paid by Friday, January 27, 2012. Cheques, money orders or postal notes should be made out to Coolac Festival and posted to:

Late payments will be accepted up to Friday, February 3
but will incur a
handling fee of $50 per entry, paid on delivery.
